Deploying a Form as a New Data Collection Project

Last Updated: Sep 18, 2014 03:25PM EDT

Before you can collect data using one of your forms, you need to Deploy the form as a new data project. Once it is deployed, you or your interviewers can start collecting data. Normally this step should only be done when a form has been finalized, or when you are ready to conduct piloting with a form. You can deploy different versions of your form as well for testing purposes, and then delete it when you're ready to do the actual survey.

How to deploy a form as a new survey project:

  1. In your forms dashboard click on Deploy as New Survey Project
  2. In the window that opens confirm the name of your project. You can leave the default title that was taken from your form, of course. The ID of your form can consist of letters, underscores, or numbers. It needs to be unique among your other project that you had previously deployed. The ID will be visible in only a few places, such as when downloading your data as a file later on.
  3. Click on Done, and your project will be deployed. You will be forwarded to your project's dashboard.
